22 Submissions

SUBMISSIONS FOR VOLUME FOUR ARE NOW OPEN.

VOLUME 4 WILL BE DEDICATED TO COLLAGE IN ALL ITS MYRAID FORMS. MUSIC, ART, AND WRITING ALL ACCEPTED BUT MUST FOLLOW THE THEME OF "COLLAGE."

Potentially the most multitudinous but utterly satisfying theme of any magazine is the "collage" issue. Collage is a broad topic so we won't put to many restrictions on it beyond the basic definition of being a collection of parts utilized to form a whole. The physical or theoretical explanation beyond that is at your discretion. We will be accepting "collage" in all forms: music, art, video, literature and more.

HOW TO SUBMIT TO THE 22 MAGAZINE:

CURATORS: We very happily accept submissions to curate for The 22 Magazine. Curation of the magazine is an in-depth process and results in a final book. Please note, while we will consider curators on a year round basis, the publication is only produced twice a year. While we do not expect curators to do all of the work alone, please be prepared for a more intensive publication experience. To be considered for a curating role you must send a proposal by email to the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com stating the theme (if any) of the volume, as well as links to potential contributors. If you see a already announced theme that you would like to be a curator on, please don't hesitate to contact us.

ART: Please submit your work or a sample thereof to the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com. Please include "Submission, Art" in your subject line. We highly prefer links to work. The more we can see, the better your chances. If you do not have a link or a website, please submit no more than 3 works in jpeg format. We will contact you if we would like to see more than 3.

MUSIC: Please submit your work or a sample thereof to the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com. Please include "Submission, Music" in your subject line.We highly prefer links to work. The more we can hear, the better your chances. If you do not have a link or a website, please submit no more than 3 songs in mp3 format. We will contact you if we would like to hear more than 3.

OTHER: Please submit your work or a sample thereof to the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com. Please include "Submission, Other" in your subject line. Again, links are prefered.

HOW TO SUBMIT TO THE 22 BLOG:

CURATORS: We very happily accept submissions to curate the blog for a week. Curation of the blog can be as simple as nominating creatives to be featured, doing interviews or features, or as in-depth as choosing all featured creatives and images for the week. We are flexible on the amount of work expected of curators and are always happy to pitch in. There are also opportunities to curate The Playlist as well as Video Weekend. If you are looking to curate any or all of these things please email us at the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com with a brief synopsis of your idea or an inquiry for more information.

WRITING: Please submit your work or a sample thereof to the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com. WE DO NOT REPUBLISH WRITTEN WORK. If the piece has already been published online or in print please do not send. We DO ACCEPT simultaneous submissions. Please include "Submission, Writing, Blog Only" in your subject line. VIDEO WEEKEND is an ongoing series dedicated to the pairing of two or more films or videos that have a dialogue or common elements. It occurs once a week on Saturday's. To submit your film/video for consideration please send LINKS ONLY to the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com. We will not accept attached files for Video Weekend.

THE WEEK/WEEKEND is a curated monthly listing of events in and around the New York area. To have your event considered you must email us by the first of the month. If you would like a review or preview we ask that you try to submit at least 2 weeks before the event.

THE PLAYLIST is a curated playlist from NY and the world at large. To have your music or spoken words considered please email us at the22magazine (at) gmail (dot) com with a sample of your work or a specific track. Links to work highly welcome. We attempt to put out at least one playlist a month.

HOW TO SUBMIT TO CURRENT PROJECTS:

CLAMOR IN THE STREETS is music in the streets courtesy of The 22 Magazine. The location is chosen by the magazine or the performer and is recorded and put online.
